Simple, but still unusual & exciting, this champagne cocktail is an easy way to shake up the champagne routine. Adding balsamic gives the champagne a beautiful amber hue, and the flavor is a mellow mix of tang and sweetness.

Note: the type of sparkling wine you choose to use will change the taste considerably. For a sweeter result, use a sweet sparkling wine like Moscato Dolce or Prosecco. To tone down the sweetness, use a Brut or an Extra Brut sparkling wine or Champagne.

You can also jazz it up by adding some fresh fruit!

Ingredients:

  • 15ml Fig Caramelised Balsamic,
  • 150ml Sparkling Wine or Prosecco, chilled
  • Fresh figs and thyme (optional)

Method

  1. Pour Fig Caramelised Balsamic into a chilled champagne flute.
  2. Hold the glass at a 45 degree angle (to preserve the bubbles) and gently pour in your sparkling wine or prosecco.
  3. Garnish with a fresh figs and or thyme (if using) and serve immediately.

Note: A non-alcoholic version can be made substituting the sparkling wine with sparkling water.
